Ron Samuels has been a powerhouse in the broadcast, music, and voiceover industries. His musical prowess is unparalleled with his knowledge of R&B, rock, gospel, and country. His illustrious career has spanned decades and included many music formats in major markets across the U.S. At a very early age, he worked for the iconic Wolfman Jack. That experience helped shape Ron and hone his skills as a broadcast pro. He went on to work in major markets for stations like KSFX and KCBS in San Francisco; KGIL, KGFJ, and KDAY in Los Angeles; KUXL in Minneapolis; MAJIC 107, WKQS, and WLQY in Miami; SUNNY 99.1, KILT FM 100, Z-ROCK, U 106, KYOK and KJZS in Houston - just to name a few. Listeners across the nation have known him as Ron Samuels, Johnny Soul, and Dave King. Ron has also been a music producer/promoter. He managed Solomon Burke, promoted James Brown, and produced Martha and the Vandellas, Bobby Bland, Bobby Womack, and the Irma Thomas shows in Los Angeles. As a prodigious promoter, Ron has had his share of hits with gold records and several Grammy nominations. Love Street and Fools Road was a single by Solomon Burke that was featured in the Cool Breeze movie under Ron’s insightful management. He also produced a music score for one of the movie’s chase scenes. Ron is a familiar voice that listeners will remember with voiceovers heard on spots for The Jackson 5, Lady Sings the Blues, and Motown Records. He emceed at The Forum and The California Club in Los Angeles; The Cow Palace in San Francisco; P.J.’s in Hollywood; the Keil Auditorium and London House East in St. Louis. Ron is a true dynamo with a voice and insightful dialog that listeners will appreciate.
